Wherever possible, we are no longer using virgin fabrics. Upcycling creates unique, short-run pattern combinations and keeps these (increasingly plastic) fabrics from ending their days clogging a landfill or choking a tortoise.

The Original Original Board Blanket was made from a yoga mat and duct tape. The first sewn prototype came from Matt's spectacular bibs after an equally spectacular tumble ripped them beyond reasonable repair.

A Christening blanket. A stack of old concert T's, licensed fabric from your favorite team, or even a wedding dress, anything you send can (probably) become a Board Blanket.

As the Banner claims, these are handmade, in my basement, so a certain level of "uniqueness" is to be expected in each Board Blanket delivered.

If something goes wrong with your O.B.B. (or most anything you own, for that matter), first try to fix it yourself; mending clothing is an underappreciated skill but so necessary considering the amount of plastic fabric and threading already clogging the landfills and oceans. Consider any damage to your Board Blanket an opportunity to expand your skills toolbox. [Next, I want you to start changing your own oil, and rotating your own tires, while you're at it find out where the main water shut-off is in your house, and for the love of all things holy, chew with your damn mouth closed!
