My work as a design student

The Primary Clock came from an assignment in my INTO TO CAD class. Constrained only by materials (2'x2'x0.5" ply) I designed a flat-packed clock that teaches young children more than just how to tell time.  They learn a little color theory, some 3D visualization skills (puzzling), and what kid have you met that doesn't love turning a screwdriver‽  (I also created the font "Primary" for this project.

Fixy was a project that was brought to our BEGINNING ID STUDIO class from the MRK Cosmetics, Colin Wolford and I designed a kit that helps the user repair broken pressed powder makeup.   Every Studio class is a competition, and while our design took second place, our ideas shone through in the final product.    https://www.fixymakeup.com/

Patisserie was a project brought to our INTERMEDIATE ID STUDIO from Eco-Systems.  Working alone, I designed a complete system for the packaging and transport of baked goods.  Despite the distinctly amateurish feel of this project book, the design was awarded 1st place in the competition, and interlocking logo embossed lids similar to mine are now on the market.   https://www.ecoproducts.com/

Brewista was a project brought to our ADVANCED ID STUDIO from SmartCo Intl. (now rebranded as "Brewista").  We were asked to create an elegant commercial cold coffee brewing system.  Denisse Garcia and I received a 1st place award for our design. https://brewista.co/

As part of my DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING class, we were tasked with choosing an existing market to research.  This was 2 months after Colorado voters approved recreational adult marijuana use, and while the market for MMJ was already flooded following 10 years of legal medicinal use in the state, my research found that the accessory and tools market remained wide open and still expanding. 

In our PRO STUDIO class, were charged with using this market research to find a hole in the current market and then to design a product that fills it; Afterburn was the result, and since this design resulted in a degree, and that degree landed me a job, I like to think of this as yet another top finish in a design competition.
